Write HTML and CSS to build your site
Build the HTML/CSS for your final project website. Create a site Style Guide based on your actual site build. Validate your site and test it in different browsers; be sure to include the following elements:
- Best practice standards in HTML/CSS that we have been working with all quarter (organize your pages in blocks of content using elements that clearly show their purpose, e.g, header, nav, section, footer)
- A Home Page, accessible throughout the site, that clearly lets user know the purpose of the site
- At least two other pages that contain appropriate content with elements identifying the page, letting users know their current location in the site
- Clear, functional navigation links, consistent throughout the site
- Appropriate styles used to format, layout, and provide interactive effects, saved in at least three external CSS files:
a separate css file for format/colors, layout/positioning, and interactive effects - A site Style Guide that documents your final site formatting, colors, layout, and graphic/image licensing.
- Colors selected from your color palette in your Style Guide (if you add or change colors, modify your design document)
- Graphics and images that look good, support the site purpose, and have appropriate licensing for use in your site (noted in your Style Guide
- Meta-tags on each page provide appropriate keywords, author, and descriptions. Titles and headings each page also support search-engine optimization.
- (BONUS) Some interactive component, possibly an interactive HTML form or other element that uses scripting
Validate your HTML and CSS as you go. Test your site as you create it in a variety of browsers including Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Opera and Internet Explorer. See how it looks on mobile devices as well.
Submission
- Upload your completed Personal Website to your course portfolio site week 9 or final site section.
- Provide a Link to the site from your main index.html page.
- Be sure your page is viewable at your site http://studentfolders.student.cascadia.edu/bit112/
- Submit your site Style Guide to Canvas
