Personal Website

Time to put to work all of the creative skills you have been practicing during the first half of the course toward the creation of a your own personal website. You will be creating a new website on a topic of your choice and linking it to your portfolio.

  1. Choose a website Topic

  2. You may do your own original website about something that interests you, some topic, organization, person, event, idea or really anything that you find engaging, interesting, exciting, worthwhile, or just too often overlooked. It may be a site on a personal interest or a site for a business, club, or special interest group to which you are connected. OR
  3. You may use the graphics and content I have provided to create a mock website. There is more material than necessary to meet the specifications of the final project in order to allow for creativity and individual expression. Two sets of content are available:
    1. African Trails - a web site for a small, native-owned company in Tanzania.
    2. Nomad Tours - an American Tour company offering Xtreme adventure tours.

Most people choose option (1) - its a lot more fun. However, if you choose option (2), the links above download a zip file containing graphics and text available for use. You may use all or only what is necessary to meet the specifications for the final project. You may also add your own content to the site.

Post your Topic and Make a suggestion

After deciding on the focus of your personal website, please post your topic to the Personal Website Topic discussion board (login with your Angel username and password) so that others can see the range of ideas. Please include in your proposal:

  1. a brief description of the website that you plan to create
  2. a sentence explaining who the intended audience is for the site

Comment on one other proposal on the discussion board that interests you to say what you would want to see on a website like the one described in the other person's proposal.
