THIS DEMONSTRATES THE 'INTERNAL' STYLE OF CSS DECLARATION, using a div element.
Notice a couple of things about the 'div' element that we just used:
- We did not cover div elements before using them.
- If you want to know more about div elements you should look for information about them online.
Starting with W3Schools is probably a good way to go, but feel free to use anything that helps you out.
- Having just said that we won't cover div elements, here are a couple of things to know:
- divs are 'block' elements: like p, ul, or ol they have a line break before & after
- divs specifically have NO other formatting. They were added to HTML specifically
so you could use CSS to make them look however you want.
- There's also an inline 'span' elementthat allows you to use CSS formatting, too. It's basically just
like div except that there's no line break before & after (so it's more like strong, b, or a, except that
it has no formatting (and no hyperlinks).
- Hey! We just used a span elementin that last item! And we're using it again here
- The span elements in this document are stylin' because of our EXTERNAL STYLE SHEET
- (This was true for the demo file - is it still true?)
