Prerequisite: Chemistry 162 with a grade of 2.0 or better. If you did not complete 162 at Cascadia, you may be asked to provide evidence of your grade from an equivalent course.

Textbook: P. Kelter, M. Mosher and A. Scott, "Chemistry, The Practical Science" (1st ed., Houghton Mifflin). The Media Enhanced edition is not required. This is the same text as for CCC CHEM&162 and 163. Two copies plus a study guide are available on Library reserve.
The laboratory manual will not be available at the Bookstore, and will be available only on Canvas. You may continue in your Chem 162 lab notebook.
If you are not registered, the preliminary course Syllabus, Unit 1, tentative schedule, and lab documents are linked below.
A Canvas site will also be active after June 10 containing the Syllabus and the Unit 1 assignments, and the first laboratory experiment.
If there is a wait-list a few students may be enrolled in order of priority of the wait list. A preliminary decision will be made at the end of class on 7/5 for those in attendance; this will not be finalized until after class on 7/6. If you are wait-listed and wish to enroll, please come to class on 7/5.
The Summer quarter is 8 weeks, and the course is fast-paced. You should NOT plan on absences.

Complete the Prelaboratory Assignment (pages 31-32 of the experiment file) and bring it to lab.
The lab manual Introduction and Table of Contents contains the Safety Protocol, and its signature form, p.6; sign and bring this page to lab.
